Max Verstappen won a second title in remarkable circumstances after 

winning a rain-shortened Japanese Grand Prix. After Ferrari's 

Charles Leclerc, who finished second, was punished for cutting the track and

gaining a lead on the final lap, Verstappen led Sergio Perez in a Red Bull one-two

After the race, it was unclear whether Verstappen had done enough to

tie up the title, because it was unclear whether full points would be

awarded for a race that covered just over half the distance. But

 the regulatory body, the FIA, said that decreased points applied

only if a suspended race could not be continued
