Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Foreman with extensive experience in high-end residential work, ideally with brownstone or historic townhouse projects. This is a hands-on role combining expert carpentry with site leadership. You will oversee daily site operations, coordinate trades, ensure top-quality workmanship, and help deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise detailed carpentry, trim work, millwork installation, and restoration.
Lead a team of carpenters and subcontractors on-site.
Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Coordinate daily schedules, deliveries, and inspections.
Communicate clearly with project managers, owner’s reps, clients, and vendors.
Ensure work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and historic preservation where applicable.
Requirements:
Minimum 5–10 years of carpentry experience in high-end residential construction.
Proven experience as a site foreman or lead carpenter.
Strong knowledge of NYC brownstone/townhouse construction methods and finishes.
Ability to problem-solve and adapt on-site.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
OSHA 62 certification required.
Must have own tools and reliable transportation.
