Join a well-established and growing food manufacturing company based in Henderson, known for delivering high-quality food products across New Zealand. They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support and improve their production operations, ensuring equipment is running at optimal performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising a range of mechanical systems and production machinery. Working closely with the maintenance and production teams, you’ll ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, food-safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on food manufacturing machinery and equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective action promptly
Support process improvement and machine optimisation projects
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery when required
Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams
About You:
Trade-qualified or degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment – food industry experience highly desirable
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of health & safety and food-grade compliance standards
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Flexibility for shift work or after-hours callouts (if required)
